What grounds our ministry

Our Statement of Faith

The Undershepherd Group is rooted in the historic Christian faith and the authority, sufficiency, and hope of God’s Word.

These convictions shape our teaching, counseling, leadership development, partnerships, and care. This summary is not intended to replace the fuller confession or doctrinal accountability of a local church.

01

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, true and trustworthy, and the final authority for faith, life, and ministry.

02

The Triune God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in deity, glory, and majesty.

03

Humanity and Sin

We believe every person is created in the image of God and possesses inherent dignity and worth. Through sin, humanity is alienated from God and unable to restore that relationship by human effort.

04

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived without sin, died as our substitute, rose bodily from the grave, ascended to the Father, and will return in glory.

05

Salvation

We believe salvation is the gracious gift of God, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. We are justified by His finished work, not by our merit, and are called into a life of faithful discipleship.

06

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit gives new life, indwells every believer, applies the truth of Scripture, produces spiritual fruit, equips the Church, and empowers God’s people for holy living and faithful witness.

07

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all who trust in Him. Believers are called to worship, fellowship, discipleship, service, mission, and meaningful participation in a local church.

08

Resurrection and Restoration

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost, the final judgment, eternal life with God for those in Christ, and the ultimate restoration of all things under His reign.

09

Baptism

We believe that baptism by immersion is a church ordinance that represents a person’s first public act of confession, repentance, and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.Matthew 3:6, 13–17; Acts 2:38–41; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:4–11; 1 Peter 3:21

10

Human Sexuality

We believe God created every human being in His image, equal in dignity and value, and distinctly as biological male or female. We believe embodied sex is a good gift of creation and that gender identity is inseparably related to biological sex according to God’s design.Genesis 1:26–28; Genesis 2:18–25; Matthew 19:4–6; 1 Corinthians 6:18–20; 1 Thessalonians 4:3–5

11

Christian Marriage

We believe that Christian marriage is a sacred institution ordained by God for the happiness of mankind and the propagation of the human race. It is the spiritual and physical union of one man and one woman; this is the only legitimate sexual relationship according to Scripture. Accordingly, we affirm this biblical view of marriage as the only legitimate form of marriage.Genesis 2:24–25; Matthew 19:4–6; Ephesians 5:22–33; Romans 1:18–32

In all things, we seek to speak the truth in love and to make the hope of Jesus Christ central to the care we provide.
